Created by Panasonic, this megaphone translates phrases from Japanese to English, Chinese and Korean. Its purpose is not only to enable you to speak loud and clear, but also to provide instant translation of your message into multiple languages.
The Megahonyaku is still in the development stage and has very little pre-defined phrases, although Panasonic says that it is possible to connect it to the Internet in order to download new sentences and updates that will be released gradually.
The name is a combination of the Japanese words for “megaphone” and “translation”. This handset allows voice input in Japanese and translates the phrases in English, Chinese and Korean.
Panasonic’s goal is for this megaphone to serve a corporate client market (airports and tourist sighting are some of the target areas).
Panasonic will begin offering this megaphone translation device with 3-year contracts, providing users with updates and maintenance.
